Trench and a Hat

I took an unplanned break from blogging this week because I wanted to spend more time with the little one. Perhaps I am going through a special case of precious first born syndrome as this week my world literally revolved just around the darling daughter. Not to sound like a cliché but seeing your baby growing each day, learning new things and thriving is possibly the most joyous thing one can witness. We also celebrated Halloween baking cupcakes, getting creative in the kitchen and seeing the tricks our little one treated us to. 🙂

Coming back to the outfit, a trench is a classic number that you should definitely have in your closet. I got this taupe colour trench three years ago for an official trip to Scotland. However, I used it only that year and it was forgotten.  The good thing is some things never go out of style. I learnt ages ago that fashion is fleeting, fickle and fast moving. Fashion fades but style is eternal. A trench is one stylish garment that suits everyone irrespective of their shape, size or age.

Although it comes with a belt that gives it a fitted silhouette, I have here used it sans the belt for a more casual look. I have paired it with this crop sweater which I previously wore here and my ever-trusted Levi’s jeans from this post. To give the look more pizzazz and fun, I have used this floppy hat which is perfect to prevent the wind from spoiling my hair. I have also used a roomy bag from this post and zebra print flats from this post to keep it simple yet chic.

Hat: H&M, Crop sweater: Primark, Coat: Debenhams (similar), Bag: Zara, Earrings: India, Watch: Tissot

I am also happy to say that I have successfully managed to stay away from the shops despite many temptations thanks to various sales happening at this time of the year. Styling for me is a form of art and I am excited to realise that we can actually create thousands of looks from things we already have. Who says you need to have million bucks to look like million bucks!

And the winner of my first giveaway is (drum rolls please) Shobha Raj. Shobha we will send you the stand soon as soon as you inbox me your address 🙂
