Black-and-white always looks modern, whatever that word means–Karl Lagerfeld
Black and White is one look that will remain my firm favourite no matter what the trends say. Of course, I love colours but there is an unrestrained sophistication and eternal chicness about the black and white look. From the haute couture shows of fashion luminaries like Alenxander Wang to the nonchalant street style of London; there is no denial that the black and white look is a force to be reckoned with.
This year black and white look popped up all over the fashion map and it was given an interesting twist with pattern play, geometrics and intelligent design which just shows the versatility of this seemingly simple look.
For my look today, I have chosen a hanky hem cardigan in tribal pattern from JD Williams. It is a rather busy time of the year, hence I needed something that has a fun vibe yet is effortless and chic. This cardigan thus ticks all the boxes. I love the fact that the swinging silhouette of the cardigan lends it a classy feminine vibe while the black and white tribal pattern gives it a speck of androgyny. To stay true to black and white theme, I have paired the cardigan with a white tee and black paneled leggings. The only colour I have used is a hint of green kohl on my peepers and my favourite radiant orchid lipstick.
Cardigan: gifted by JD Williams, Tee: Armani (old, hubby’s), Leggings: H&M, Boots: Asos (old), Beanie: Topshop (old)
So, if you are looking for a style that is quick, effortless, refined yet down-to-earth then go for the timeless black and white. It is a blend that will never let you down.
