Trying on a trend: Blushing pink

Truth be told, who doesn’t like a rose like glow? It is perhaps one of the most coveted looks ever. The recently concluded NYFW has once again put this look back on the beauty map. At Tibi’s fall show, models showcased their stuff with this simple yet pretty make up– Fresh skin, cheeks illuminated with pinkish glow and a touch of soft pink on lips was used to seal the look. I road test this trend to see how it translates in real life.

To achieve this look, I’ve first prepped my face with Garnier moisture match lotion, this helped me to get a fresh glowing skin—perfect for my tired “mommy” face.  I then applied my favourite Olay CC cream and sealed it Bodyshop’s all in one face base.

For the pink part, I have used Bodyshop’s all-in-one cheek color (bubblegum) as a blusher and highlighted my cheekbones with baked-to-last blush in coral. I must confess I have used a tad bit more photographic purpose. I use much less for a natural finish in real life. On my lips, I’ve used color crush lipstick from Bodyshop and sealed it with Rimmel’s Keep calm and party lip balm.

My verdict: As a pink lover, it is obvious that I love this look. But what I like about this is it gives you a healthy glow and a fresh face. During the day of this photoshoot, I had not slept properly roughly for five straight nights. I was exhausted, can you tell? I hope not. Needless to say, I love this new-old trend.

Hope you enjoyed this post. Have a great week ahead.  Do show me your love with your likes and comments and don’t forget to follow me.      🙂
