About

The Athleisure trend

Hello. Hello. Thank you for stopping by.

Welcome to Style With Substance. I started this blog four years ago, when I had just moved to the UK and wanted to crack the really difficult journalism industry. This blog was a means to continue to write on the things that mattered to me and get noticed. Back in the days it was called Voices in My Head.

Cut to the present, many things have changed in my personal and professional life. I am no longer the clueless girl still trying to find herself. I am a confident and edgier version of myself and this avatar of Style With Substance is the personification of my metamorphosis. I genuinely believe that to grow is to change for the better. Style with Substance follows this ethos too.

What remains unchanged is my passion. Passion for life, for writing, for a range of issues ranging from Fashion to Feminism. And Style with Substance is a platform where I discuss all these issues. Style With Substance is for all the Girl bosses and bad ass ladies, the stereotype breakers and the real trend setters. It caters to and hopes to be the voice of the under-represented females–the extraordinary mums, the versatile career girl and the unassuming fempreneur.

Of course, there is no dearth for fashion and lifestyle blogs but there are only handful of blogs representing the everyday women who put the extra in the ordinary and break conventions often without not even knowing. Style with Substance is for those.

I am a mum and a wife living in the Jane Austen county–Hampshire. I also work full-time in a digital agency. And when I have some time left (how, you ask?) I use it to explore newer things in fitness, baking healthy banana bread, chilling with a book and of course Netflix.

I chose to name my little corner on Net–Style With Substance–because I firmly believe that both go hand in hand and as Coco Chanel famously said, “Fashion lies in ideas”.

I would love to know what you think about my new blog. You can drop me a line on stylewithsubstance07@gmail.com or send me a tweet on @DhanyaNsankar or find me on Instagram @dhanyajit.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I love writing it.

    Hi,

My name is KC Owens, I’m a college student and I love to travel! While cruising the Internet, I found your site and really enjoyed reading your posts. I have been to countries all over Europe with just my backpack and a camera. Since I am a college student and I have significant bills, it can be difficult to find ways to travel the world. However, I have done this several times, with less than ten pounds of luggage and while on a college dime!

I was hoping that you would allow me to write a post for your site to share my tips and tricks with your readers. I put a lot of time into my traveling, it is my biggest passion and I would love to inspire others by sharing my stories, mistakes and triumphs. I look forward to hearing from you!

    Best,

    KC Owens

loved how you’ve put it all together and so happy to see someone who thinks alike. Often people talk about choosing a niche and sticking to it and no matter how much I have tried to sort of put a tag and say that may be I’m only interested in photography every time there is a new movie or may be that latest song my mind is equally lovin it 🙂 Finally see someone who says its ok to like a lot of things 😀
also, i’m a big time kaapi drinker too hehe.
Great to have finally found your blog.
    Sending you much love,
    A.D!

Hi Yes, I was toying with the idea for a long time and then I decided to go with what I like the best. I wanted to create a common platform which has everything from culture to fashion all in one go so the blog was thus born 🙂

Hi Dhanya, nice to meet you. Your name reminds me of dhanyavad, one of the few words we learned in Hindi while we were in India. Every country we go to we at least learn how to say hello and thank you!
Thanks for following our blog. I hope you enjoy the stories of our journey, both inner and outer. And don’t be a stranger – feel free to join the conversation.
    Namaste
