Today’s style guest post is from my BFF (Best Fashionable Friend apart from the obvious)…..drum rolls please…Neha, who lives in Bombay, India. Neha is my first fashion (and non-fashion) adviser, secret keeper and the most wonderful girl friend. I can sing paeans about her but I will just give this space to her. Love you, bestie.

Being from India, I have always had a fascination for bright hues. Pop colours, for me, are synonymous to summer. The silhouettes may vary, the fabrics may be different, but colours are right there getting all the attention they deserve. And this trend is definitely going to be a part of my wardrobe.

I have a few pieces in pop colours which I mix and match according to my mood. If you find pop colours too loud for your comfort, why not try accessories in pop colors to go with neutrals?

Here I am wearing a Mint Green top with a bright pink piping on sleeves. Summer fashion gets a fresh look with this light Georgette top. Fresh colours and contrasting detail gives it an understated chic avataar whilst the drop hem keeps it on trend. As this was a work day,  I’ve  teamed the top with tan coloured jeggings and brown ballet flats (I’ve to run around a lot!)

My style mantra is to keep it simple and be chic without trying! As a curvy girl, I definitely love sheer, light fabrics like this one as it does not cling to your body but lingers around it accentuating those deadly curves. Plus, the lightness of the fabric makes it perfect for hot (very hot!) Indian Summer.

I’ve added hints of blue and coral (on my nails) to add some fun. Don’t be afraid of mixing colours as it can sometimes bring together an entire look.

Adios my friends and remember….keep rocking those curves. 😀

Coco Chanel once famously said, “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” Now, who could argue with an icon like her? I definitely feel that every girl should have an ensemble that feels like a perfect marriage between class and fab. Yes, I would love to have a Chanel trousseau in my wardrobe but times are tough. And tough times call for smart measures.

To emulate the Chanel mantra, I’ve combined a black lace pussy-bow blouse with a dip hem skirt to re-create my own classy and fab look right from the British high-street.

There is something so subtly romantic about the pussy-bow blouse, it is timeless yet feminine whilst a dip-hem skirt lends an ethereal charm yet is modern and trendy. A waist-cincher is a must-have to accentuate those curves.
