They say pregnant women need a good dose of Vitamins. I have taken this saying a tad bit further and decided to dress my 34th week bump in a bright, orange coloured top reminding me of sunshine, oranges and of course Vitamins 😉

A simple top like this with interesting details (like the sleeves here) should be in every pregnant women’s wardrobe because it can be easily dressed up or down without any fuss.

One of the looks I am loving at the moment is the uber cool–sports luxe look. Sports inspired look can be flattering, flexible and unlike other fashion trends–super comfortable. Perhaps this is why everyone from Gucci, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Topshop have embraced this style.  Here’s how I’ve personalised this trend.

As your pregnancy progresses; comfort does become a major factor when it comes to styling. So here, I have worn a pair of jersey joggers and my favourite: “hand off the bump” word tee. (cheeky, I know). I have also used my comfy walking shoes–a cross between flats and gym trainers and a plaid shirt which is perfect for adding a light layer.

Joggers: H&M, Tee: New Look, Shirt: Next, Bag: Zara, Shoes: Sorel, Sunglasses: India

For a girly element, I have added a bright blue bag and pinkish sunglasses. I am certainly loving the sports luxe style this season are you?

As I enter my third trimester, it is all about celebrating and respecting my ever-growing curves. For my birthday (which I celebrated yesterday), I wanted to feel special and glamorous after all I am going to soon embark on the exciting and challenging journey called Motherhood. I opted for a ruched dress in blue–apparently one of the hottest colours of the season.

A ruched dress is a great way to compliment your curves and it has just the right amount of glam. Surprisingly, it is also comfortable enough to walk around the entire day. I have accessorised the dress with simple gold jewellery and rose gold pumps. To be honest, I am not a clutch girl. I love big, roomy bags that can carry my world. So, here I have opted for a tan bucket bag.

Yes, there are days when I am concerned about my changing body. But, I sincerely feel that this is one of the best times and rather than fretting I keep reminding myself that I am carrying a little person inside. I don’t think pregnancy should be an excuse to forgo your style or loose your confidence because ultimately you are helping to perpetuate life on earth and surely it is more than some numbers on the scale.

Dress: Asos, Jacket: Jessica Simpson, Pumps: Clarks (old), Bag: Zara, Accessories: H&M (old), Watch: tissot

As the temperature dipped, I took out my blue jacket to create a cool blue colour blocking effect. The result was surprisingly pleasing and the cherry on top of cake.

Five years ago, when the hubby and I were dating I once quipped to him, “There is a child in all of us,” to which he rather sweetly replied, “But your Child is always outside,” referring to the fact how child-like I can be. Five years since then, a big fat Indian wedding later; living in three different countries before finally calling UK our new home, lots of loving & laughing together later I am happy to say: there is a child in me!

I still cannot believe that my 21st week has started today (that is five months over!). Ever since, peeing on the stick some zillion times and going from disbelief to euphoria to sheer joy it has been one amazing ride so far. At 21 weeks (and counting) I can feel the little flutters and sometimes when I am lucky a kick or two. Never, ever I thought I would be this fortunate to experience this incredible (words fail me) feeling.

I have promised myself to enjoy my pregnancy in style and with a beaming positive attitude; even on days I feel less than fine. So, help me God 😉

I love monochrome ensembles, I do.

But I love it more when there is a dash of colour because let’s face it there’s only so much greyness you can take when the weather is so brisk!!

Here, I have added a jacket in blue. The Jacket goes well with my stripe dress and keeps me stylishly warm.

Dress & tights: H&M, Jacket: Jessica Simpson via TK Maxx, Booties: New Look, Bag: Osprey London, Lips: Mac, Statement Earrings: Tu, Bangles: India, Watch, Tissot, Eyes: Parrot Eyes (Designer purple, bodyshop metallic eye definer in industrial blue & vibrant emerald)

Moral of this story: don’t be shy to mix your monochrome with a dash of colour, you will be pleasantly surprised.
