Playing dress up begins at age 5 and never really ends–Kate Spade

Gosh, I cannot believe that this year is almost ending and this is my first post for December 🙁 Truth is, December, has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for me and not because it is the year end. I was unwell for most part of this month, confined to the bed even and piled with work. But hey atleast despite everything I still managed to enjoy my office Christmas party  in style(I do have some awesome colleagues) and I am getting back to my favourite method of unwinding–blogging.

The best part of the festive season (apart from all the presents and the general love and affection amidst people) is of course festive fashion. When it comes to festive fashion (or any other fashion for that matte) my favourite go-to style is dresses. This year, instead of splurging on another new dress (mind you I have done that too) I instead thought of re-styling an old dress.

This maroon-red dress in baroque print dress is my all time favourite and I decided to restyle it for obvious reasons. Red is a colour synonymous with Christmas. Combine it with black and some winter accessories and you have an hands down winner.

Red dresses have spunk, playfulness and just the right bit of sass to make it a clear wardrobe winner. Pair it with classic winter accessories like over the knee high lace boots, polka dot tights, statement necklace, cocktail ring and a delicate bracelet and you are ready to own any dance floor or dinner event.

Dress: Debenhams (old) also like this one from Pretty Little Things, boots: Ego, Beret &snood: New Look, necklace: Mango, Bracelet: Pandora

I have also added a fur snood and beret to earn more chic points as well to make sure that i stay warm without compromising much on style. So my top tip for this festive season fashion would be? A little Red dress and over the knee lace boots 😉

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour, and some style—Maya Angelou

After a rather hectic month when work was full-swing and I was just too poorly to do much, I am back. Hopefully for good.

As a fashion-loving mum, I am always looking out for dress options that can take me from AM to PM in a snap. So, I have been on a mission to find if such a dress even exists. Truth be told, I was ready to give up because I just could not find styles with a certain je ne sais quoi which is work appropriate yet chic enough for the evening. Which can be dressed down when I am running behind my toddler or dressed up whilst on a date night with the man or can be styled appropriately for work.

So, when I saw this black and white, skater style number, it was a love at first sight. As soon as I opened it out of the package (man, I love online shopping!) and donned it, I was sold. I have an unabashed love for black and white ensembles. It’s simple, understated, perennially chic and can be styled in million ways.

So how do you it for morning till evening? Throw a boy friend blazer, some dark tights, boots for the morning like I have done here. Add simple accessories like a watch (or Fitbit in my case, which is my current obsession), a single bracelet or bangle and earrings for morning, add a bag that can be cleverly converted into a clutch for morning (like I have done with my favourite satchel in pink (for colour pop) here).

To this take away the blazer and add more bangles, perhaps a statement necklace (which I forgot here :() and your bag turned clutch and voila!

You now have a style that will help you nail that deal at work and take you swimmingly well whether you want to go dancing with your friends, drinks at the pub or date night with the other half.

So, who says AM to PM dressing has to be boring or stressful with my handy tips I am sure you will rock the boardroom and the dance floor with the same pizazz. 🙂

Summers invariably mean florals for me. With temperatures soaring (finally) in this part of the globe my inner flower child is only delighted. The easiest way to look smoking hot in hot weather? A cool flowery dress and a great attitude.
