When all else fails; throw in a trusty jacket over a pair of black skinnies (or anything) for an effortless look. A Pinstripe jacket like this one is a wardrobe hero that can elevate any look. Tucked-in hair, showcased on the catwalk at Mulberry, will add an element of mischief.  Perfect for days when you really have to get ready in under five minutes.

Never underestimate the power of colour. This summer I am definitely embracing colours like never before; a bright coloured dress–like the coral one here–can add a punch and a lot of character to your wardrobe. So ditch the black and give a little coloured dress a chance.

Let’s face it, there are days in every fashionista’s life when she can just not be fashionably late. You’ve to simply throw caution to the wind, get ready and dash out of that door in a jiffy. A floating maxi skirt is my fail-safe way to look effortlessly put together on such days.

Perfect for those lazy summer days; a maxi skirt can suit most shapes (if you are really petite just add some killer heels) and can be paired with literally anything under the sun. Here I’ve opted for a chambray button down with rolled up sleeves and comfy flats with zebra stripes. I added a belt later on because the skirt was a bit too loose for me and made a knot for some peek-a-boo fun 😉

Summer means basking in the glorious sunshine, picnics in the park , sauntering without a care and having a gala time with your loved ones. A perfect time to be freewheeling and unrestrained. My clothes too take a carefree approach. Colours, breathable fabrics and girly-girl elements are my favourite summer essentials.

Come Summer and I automatically lean towards crisp cottons and loads of colours. Comfy sandals and (as always) complementing accessories are just some of my summer essentials. How would you define your summer wardrobe? And what does summer mean to you? Do share your thoughts.

Yes, I know summer and knits is an oxymoron for most us but if you are living in this part of the world, you would agree that summer is just a giant flash in the pan! It might be sunshine, cheer and a glass of Pimms for the rest of the world but for us it is mighty winds, perpetual rain and cold seeping our senses.

So, light knits are one of the most integral part of my summer wardrobe. Since I am a bit of rebel (mostly without any cause 😉 ), I refuse  to let this dampen my spirits and have paired my trusty summer knit with a colourful little skirt.

I feel with so much greyness and dampness around me, colours can bring in some much needed cheer. I have chosen a  knit with a broad boat neck and rolled up short sleeves because it enhances my curves nicely while the light-weight material doesn’t weigh me down allowing me to walk tall and proud.

Add some not-so-little accessories like  statement earrings and a bold cuff and there’s my go-to uniform for days when the weather is confused about the season!!
