Comfort is definitely the key factor when I am happily exploring a new city, sauntering around seeking its beauty and lost in my little bubble. My tropical weather wardrobe consists invariably of some sleeve less chiffon tops, colourful bottoms and of course accessories that can be mixed and matched with everything.
Keeping in mind, Ibiza’s “relaxed” atmosphere, I opted for this colourful little skirt and paired it with a simple white top. A beach bag, some dangling earrings, an anklet and flip flops and I was ready to kiss the sun and loose myself in the mesmerising Mediterranean waters. Yes, sometimes less is really more!

Think skorts and I am instantly reminded of my school days when I madly flirted with tom boy looks and was convinced being overtly feminine was not my cup of tea. How we change!! As high school ended, so did my fascination with anything tom boyish and as for skorts I swore I would never touch them again. For the uninitiated, skort is a love child of a skirt and a short.
All my adult life, I was convinced I will never go near them again. But as they say never say NEVER. When you are happily beach bumming, strolling without a care for the world and sipping Sangria instead of water…you need to be at your comfortable best.
And the lesson I surprisingly learnt during my Spain holiday….skorts can be your best friend if you want to look effortlessly chic and yet be comfortable. What’s more? It’s perfect for hot and humid weather.
I am now smitten.
Here, I have paired a printed skort with a plain chiffon top. The mint colour of the top balances the dark shade of the skort. I have added a big belt for an added feminine twist.
