As much as I hate admitting it, sometimes I do get swayed by popular trends. But I always try to personalise a trend and give it my touch. This season, the animal trend has caught my attention once more.  As I mentioned here, I absolutely love the animal trend. It is daring, powerful and feisty. This AW animal prints have taken a whole new level with designers experimenting with all kinds of prints from leopard to python and also unabashedly using animal motifs.  I can’t deny I am happily smitten.

leopard print for AW13

Here, I’ve paired a leopard print pencil skirt with a chambray shirt. I absolutely love the pencil skirt; nothing compliments your curves like a pencil skirt. It is subtle and sensual at the same time. I think everyone should have a chambray shirt, it is perhaps the most versatile garment ever invented. I love both and here I thought why not combine my two loves?

I’ve accessorised with a waist-cincher belt statement earrings, a subtle necklace, cocktail ring and a simple clutch to ensure the focus remains on the skirt.

So, tell me would you join the bandwagon and let loose the animal in you? C’mon don’t be shy it is daring I promise you.

Coco Chanel once famously said, “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” Now, who could argue with an icon like her? I definitely feel that every girl should have an ensemble that feels like a perfect marriage between class and fab. Yes, I would love to have a Chanel trousseau in my wardrobe but times are tough. And tough times call for smart measures.

To emulate the Chanel mantra, I’ve combined a black lace pussy-bow blouse with a dip hem skirt to re-create my own classy and fab look right from the British high-street.

There is something so subtly romantic about the pussy-bow blouse, it is timeless yet feminine whilst a dip-hem skirt lends an ethereal charm yet is modern and trendy. A waist-cincher is a must-have to accentuate those curves.
